Perfume strengths

Very often it can get sooooo confusing when faced with a huge selection and you are not quite sure what is what. Guess it happens when you have been in the comfort zone of the old faithful.

I for one seem to end up reverting back to what I know works for me. Maybe I am sentimental and too attached or just very nervous about a new scent.

Having said that, it is always nice when you find something new that suits, knowing you can add it to your collection and it can express the mood it is intended for.

And so to begin, lets start with the basics....Concentrations! Here we go...

For Women
  • Parfum the strongest concentration , a long lasting fragrance from very little liquid.
  • Parfum is the most expensive of the fragrance range and can retail in excess of £100.00.
  • Eau de Parfum (Edp) is the next strongest version which gives a more enduring scent at a more reasonable price.
  • Eau de Toilette (Edt) is the most popular and affordable concentration. Contains a higher percentage of water and fewer essential oils, Edt is nearly always presented in a spray.
  • Eau de Cologne is weaker than Edt with a lower concentration of essential oils.

For Men
  • Eau de Toilette Spray  generally the strongest concentration available and can be used on the body and on clothing but should not be used as an aftershave as it may cause irritation.
  • Aftershave is weaker than Edt so that it can be used on the face.
Aftershave Balm is a perfumed lotion or cream of similar concentration

....hope you got all of that!
